Christopher Columbus Huffaker (1823-1873) Collection (KC306)
Christopher Huffaker served as Mayor of Westport from 1864-1866. He was a teacher at the school operated in the Westport Methodist Church. There is some question as to whether Huffaker or John E. Hale was the first principal of the Main School, the new public school constructed in 1868.
The collection consists of one diary that Huffaker used to record the books he read at college. 1852
