The Kansas City Metropolitan Library Network (KCMLN) is a multi-type library cooperative serving members on both sides of the Missouri/Kansas state line. KCMLN promotes increasing the availability of library services for individuals and libraries through encouraging and facilitating reciprocity in borrowing and lending; providing bibliographic control of resources through coordination of collection development policies, technical processing plans, union lists, etc.; coordinating and encouraging the sharing of reference services; developing and coordinating educational and developmental programs for librarians, staff, and others; and cooperating with other networks and libraries to increase the availability of library resources in Kansas and Missouri.
The records contain correspondence, statistics, financial information, notes, and studies about the Missouri Library Network Corporation and Board, the Missouri Library Association and Friends group, and various libraries. ca. 1950-1990.
