George Miller (1894-1991) Papers (0664kc)

George Miller was born in Kansas City, Mo. in the Cordova Hotel where his father, Charles Miller, worked. The family moved to 32nd Street and Main in the late 1890's. He attended Westport High School and graduated from the Kansas City School of Law. He went into the real estate business and became a builder in Kansas City and in the 1920's, built the Warner Plaza and Miller Plaza developments on the site of his former home on Main Street. Miller went into the building business with Guy McCanless and together, they built the Villa Serena, Riviera and Locarno Apartments on Ward Parkway by the Plaza. After McCanless' death in late 1929 or in 1930, Miller built the Biarritz and Casa Loma Apartments. He built various apartments and houses during the 1930's and 1940's, including the Colonial Courts Apartments northwest of the Plaza in 1943.

The collection contains photographs, papers, and drawings connected with his career. ca. 1918-ca. 1964.
