Delta Kappa Gamma - Alpha Chapter of Delta State (KCMO) Records (0773kc)


The Delta Kappa Gamma Society was first organized on May 11, 1929, in Austin, Texas, under the name of Kappa Gamma Delta but was renamed in August of that year. Dr. Annie Webb Blanton and eleven other women educators founded the society to recognize the sustained, successful experience of women educators. The Missouri Alpha Chapter was organized on May 22, 1934.

Alpha Chapter records include meeting minutes from 1949-1989, yearbooks, publications and historical background of the Society. There are five scrapbooks which contain clippings, programs, and ephemera, although some include a small amount of correspondence, minutes, and reports. 1938-1989.
