Samuel Lathrop (1772-1846) Papers (KC230)
Samuel Lathrop was born in West Springfield, Massachusetts. He graduated from Yale College in 1792, studied law, was admitted to the bar and practiced law in West Springfield. Lathrop, a Republican, was elected to Congress from 1819 to 1827 and the State Senate in 1829 and 1830.
The collection consists of one letter from Samuel Lathrop in Washington, D.C., to the Hon. Josiah Stebbins in Alma, Maine, concerning the Missouri Compromise. 1820
