Academic support
One of the advantages to living on campus is a higher average GPA than those students who live off campus. In addition to the many great ways students are able to get involved and enhance their academics on campus, UMKC Residential Life also provides additional types of academic support. Each of the residence halls contains a classroom space where classes and study groups are held. In addition, Residential Life has partnered with the Center for Academic Development to provide various Supplemental Instruction sessions in both Johnson and Oak Street residence halls. We are constantly working to partner with academic programs and student services to give our students the extra support they need to be successful in their academic careers at UMKC.
