are located at 302 Newcomb Hall on the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus. We welcome your visit to our offices but encourage you to contact us in advance if possible.
Our hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through
Friday, and evenings by appointment.
We can accommodate classes of 15 to 20 students in our research room. We can also arrange other meeting space on campus or our staff can visit classrooms or organization meetings for presentations.
Parking on campus is always difficult. New University parking rules require all visitors to campus (persons who are not UMKC students, faculty, or staff) to use metered lots (one hour for a quarter) or to have a visitor hang-tag. The map below shows the location of the nearest metered lot and the nearest staff parking lot to our office in Newcomb Hall.
The hang tags are good for free parking in any lot on campus for the day indicated on the tag and can be purchased at the WHMC/UA-KC office for $5.00. They may also be used to void a parking ticket. If you receive a parking citation, return it to us along with $5.00 to pay for the tag and we will take care of it.
Directions to our office:
Travel north or south on Rockhill Road to 52nd Street; turn west on 52nd (one-way), then south on Charlotte to the metered Lot 44. Or continue on 52nd two blocks to where it dead-ends into Holmes. Lot 59 is on the south-east corner.
At the corner of 52nd and Holmes is a stairway to campus. Newcomb Hall is immediately to the north from the top of the stair. On the south end of the building (the side facing the stair) is an elevator entrance which will take you to the top floor (3rd level) into our research room.
A map of a portion of the campus is below. Rockhill Road, which borders the east side of the Nelson Gallery (to the north of campus, but not on this map), is one block west of Troost Avenue.
