As befits its appearance and location squarely in the midst of the Ward Parkway neighborhoods, Country Club Christian Church is one of the more influential congregations in the entire city. Sociologists have identified it as a wealthy church with wealthy members who provide a major segment of the business leadership of Kansas City, Missouri. This is an unusual role for a congregation of the Disciples of Christ which normally is not equated with having large numbers counted in the commercial leadership of a city.
