meeting in UMKC TelePresence room

TelePresence room

UMKC is excited to announce the completion of a new, state-of-the-art teleconferencing center in the Administrative Center. The center was made possible thanks to a very generous gift from UM System President Gary Forsee, CISCO and AT&T. The new TelePresence room allows faculty, students and staff to connect with colleagues at other UM System campuses via high-definition video and audio conferencing technology.

Fees

There is no charge for use or technician charges during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.) For after-hours conferences, there is a flat rate room access fee of $25 and an optional hourly fee for an onsite technician of $75 per hour with a one-hour minimum. If you use audio conferencing to connect non-videoconference users, audio conferencing charges apply.

Availability

Schedule your TelePresence conference like you would any other conference rooms. Go to the Outlook Global Address List and enter "TelePresence UMKC Admin Center 210." Add other UM sites, which also begin with the word "TelePresence" for quick retrieval. Include all TelePresence sites as resources. You must include two TelePresence sites to establish a meeting. Note: TelePresence cannot be scheduled to deliver courses.

If you need to schedule a TelePresence conference with a room outside of the University of Missouri System, please follow the instructions on the MOREnet TelePresence scheduling page at least five days in advance. MOREnet will notify the designated campus contact to make arrangements for building access and tech support (if needed).

The Admin Center TelePresence suite is locked after-hours and access will provided by the UMKC Police Department. Only the meeting organizer and meeting attendees will be granted access to the room after-hours. Proof of identification (University ID or Drivers License) is required.

*TelePresence users should be aware that on rare occasions, their scheduled meeting may be preempted to accommodate senior university officials. If this does occur, we will make every effort to reschedule your meeting and/or make arrangements for a non-TelePresence video conference or an audio conference in the original time slot.

Things to remember

  • Meetings are scheduled at least 15 minutes apart when possible.
  • Three day advance notice required for calls outside the UM System.
