Kansas City United: A Collaboration For A Working Metropolitan Area
Recent economic circumstances have had a significant impact on the economic and emotional stability of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. In response to these conditions, organizations from all over Kansas City have joined in the creation of this site to focus on programs that are available throughout Kansas City. Leaders in business, government, education and other pertinent community partners have been meeting and acting. The first significant contribution of Kansas City United is to provide this web site. It is our hope that this site will serve as a portal to the many valuable resources available to assist you in developing your new and satisfying career.
UMKC Campus Mediation Services
Mediation is an informal, voluntary and confidential meeting where people in conflict work with a neutral, un-authoritarian third party to develop a solutions. Mediation is an opportunity for people in conflict to talk directly about their situation. The mediator will not discuss what is said in mediation unless a participant believes he or she has been subjected to sexual harassment; discrimination based on race, creed, color, sex, national origin, Vietnam-era veteran status, age, or disability; or if there is an express intent to commit physical harm to another. That information will be reported to the Executive Director of Diversity in Action, or, in the case of a physical threat, to a designated official of the Campus Police.
The UMKC Police Department is charged with protection of University and private property, and the safety of all persons in the buildings and on the grounds of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Find information regarding current crime alerts, crime statistics, services provided by the police, parking and the officers who work to protect the campus.
