Hours are variable; must be available Sundays 10-4. This position is 20 hours per week. The program assistant is responsible for providing administrative and operational oversight for a student-centered, community-based “safety net” clinic in downtown Kansas City. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (1) develop and maintain systems to track and report encounters, demographics, expenditures and pharmacy data (2) provide leadership and planning support to the student team and physician advisor (3) perform key operational tasks such as staffing, ordering and picking up supplies, purchasing soliciting donations (4) work collaboratively with student leaders and physicians to identify and address operational needs (5) provide financial reports and outcome data for grant accountability purposes.
An associate's degree in business or related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary as well as two years of responsible office experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor degree as well as two years responsible office experience in a doctors office or medical setting, and experience creating and managing data bases. Must be detail oriented; knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory techniques a plus. Book keeping experience and computer skills, particularly Excel, are essential.
Supervise the daily operation of a unit of statistical consultants and data analysts, whose role includes advisement on computer hardware and software purchases to maintain state of the art operations.
Meet with clients to discuss research concept or problem to be addressed; assign projects to most appropriate personnel within unit; prioritize workflow.
Guide and/or assist research investigators in determining research design for data collection and analysis.
Analyze and interpret data for research investigators using a computer to execute data analysis.
Assist researcher with computerized statistical applications in support of research and/or teaching activities.
Supervise database management.
Prepare written reports for clients, which contain results of the data analyses; meet with clients to explain the information, contained in the reports.
Write and proof read portions of manuscripts and grant proposals.
Attend group meetings conducting, evaluating, and/or developing professional statistical procedures and practices.
Evaluate and develop plans for marketing and communicating services provided by the statistical unit.
A Master’s degree in Statistics or Bio-statistics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired, is necessary.
Five to seven years’ experience in statistical consulting and data analysis is required.
