The MAP Instructional Facilitator (RIF) will work at UMKC as part of the PDC regional team and in collaboration with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to support school districts in the region/state to insure high academic achievement for all students.  The facilitator’s primary responsibility is planning, managing, implementing, and evaluating the full implementation of MAP activities and projects in the region in collaboration with the MAP RIFs and PDC team.  The specialist will report directly to the Director of the UMKC -PDC and the Director of Assessment at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  Within the UMKC Professional Development Center (PDC), the MAP RIF for Mathematics will support schools by providing expertise in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development.  The RIF will provide centralized and on-site training and professional development for teachers and administrators in cooperation with DESE’s Assessment section, the PDC and the districts.  When possible the RIF will also provide follow-up, coaching and mentoring at the building level.
