STATEMENT ON REPORTED ROBBERY TO THE UMKC POLICE DEPARTMENT

The UMKC Police Department was notified of an armed robbery of a UMKC student that occurred on October 7 at approximately 10:30 p.m. near Cherry Street, immediately east of the Bloch School, 5110 Cherry Street.

The victim had just walked through the gate east of the parking lot when approached by three suspects. One suspect revealed a hand gun and demanded money from the victim. Another suspect took the victim’s bag and pushed the victim to the ground. The three suspects then ran to a vehicle where a fourth suspect was waiting in the driver’s seat. The four suspects were last seen heading northbound on Cherry Street.

The victim reported no physical injury.

After a canvas of the area, UMKC Police recovered some of the victim’s property.

Descriptions:

·         Suspect #1 – African American male, bald or shaved head, between 19-22 years of age, wearing black hooded sweatshirt and black pants

·         Suspect #2 – African American male, black hair, between 17-22 years of age, wearing gray t-shirt

·         Suspect #3 – African American male, black hair, between 17-22 years of age, clothing description unavailable

·         Suspect #4 – African American male, black hair, between 17-22 years of age, clothing description unavailable

·         Suspects’ vehicle – small black vehicle
