Admission to UMKC is based on the high school curriculum and a combination of ACT or SAT/class rank. For students attending high schools that do not rank, GPA will be used in admission decisions.

Students who do not meet the automatic admission requirements will be reviewed individually for possible admission on a trial basis. If admitted, student may be required to participate in an academic support program as a condition of their admission.
Missouri residents who graduate in the top 10 percent of their class and who have met the 17 core curriculum requirements will be admissible regardless of ACT/SAT score. Those who graduate from a high school that does not rank students must have a 3.5 GPA in the 17 core curriculum classes.
Additional minimum admission requirements are required for applicants for the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance, Engineering Majors, School of Pharmacy and combined Baccalaureate MD programs
