Graduate
and Professional School at UMKC :
UMKC currently offers more than
50 graduate degrees at the master's, educational specialist,
professional and doctoral levels, plus a number of graduate certificates. Graduate students represent about 26 percent of the total campus enrollment. The graduate student population is diverse in ethnicity, gender and racial background. As an urban university, our programs strive to accommodate adult working students. Nearly two-thirds of all graduate students are enrolled part-time.
Professional Program Admissions
(Dentisty, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy):
Students applying to the
B.A. to MD (6-yr) program
through the
School of Medicine or applying
to the
Pharm.D. through the
School of Pharmacy should
complete the general application to
UMKC and the supplemental
application for their program of
interest. By

Students applying to the
MD Only program through the

M.S. in Anesthesia
Click here if you are interested in the Master of Science in Anesthesia Program. If you choose this option, you will need to complete and mail in the UMKC application and the MSA Only supplemental application. Please indicate on the UMKC application that your desired program is MSA Only.
Students applying to the
School of Dentistry or
School of Law should not
complete the general application to
UMKC and will need to apply for
admissions directly through their
specific program of interest.
Graduate
Programs Admission Requirements:
The following are
minimum requirements for admission
to graduate study in all UMKC
graduate programs.
- A bachelor's or first-level professional degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- A satisfactory academic record.
For program-specific requirements, applicants should consult the pertinent
degree program listing in this catalog.
Please Note: Many UMKC graduate degree programs require satisfactory scores from either the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)(general and/or subject tests), the Miller Analogies Test or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). Other academic units may require other national examinations.
