Welcome Future Roos! You're Home and now part of the family!
Freshmen Orientation is your first step to becoming an official Roo. You will register for classes, strike a pose for your student ID picture, and meet new and current students. You will become more familiar with Kansas City and learn to embrace the unique opportunities that an urban university can provide. Welcome Home!
 
 
As a reminder, the available Freshman Orientation dates are :
  • Saturday, April 26th 2008 + Sunday, August 17th 2008
  • Saturday, June 7th 2008 + Sunday, August 17th 2008
  • Saturday, June 21st 2008 + Sunday, August 17th 2008
  • Friday, June 27th 2008 + Sunday, August 17th 2008
  • Saturday, July 26th 2008 + Sunday, August 17th 2008
  • Friday, August 1st 2008 + Sunday, August 17th 2008
 
Please Note: UMKC's Freshman Orientation is comprised of two MANDATORY days: Orientation Day & Welcome Day
 
Day 1: Here are some of the things you will accomplish on your Orientation Day:
  • Connect with students in your incoming class of 2008!
  • Get to know UMKC faculty, staff, and current students.
  • Get acquanited with campus and Kansas City.
  • Meet with your academic advisor.
  • Enroll in classes.
  • Get your Student ID card.
  • Learn about academic support services.
  • Visit with student organizations.
  • Tie up loose ends with financial aid, housing, parking and more.
  • Take the option to stay overnight in a residence hall. (For arrangements, contact Residential Life directly at 816.235.8840)
 
Day 2: UMKC Welcome Day - Sunday, August 17th
Experience your first day as Roo! You will get a chance to make new friends and together you will become part of UMKC traditions.
 
 
 
Registration Options: Once you've picked a date, here's how you can register
  • By Mail: Download, print and mail in the registration form and orientation fee to the Admissions Office.
  • By Phone: Call Scott Ezzell (816.235.6237), UMKC's Freshmen Orientation Coordinator, register and pay for your orientation session with a credit card.
  • In Person: You may complete the registration form and bring it to the Admissions Office at 120 Administrative Center, 5115 Oak Street, Kansas City MO 64112.
