Welcome Future Roos! You're Home and now part of the family!
Transfer Student Orientation is your first step to becoming an official Roo. You will meet your academic advisor, register for classes, and become familiar with student services. Even more impotrantly, you will connect with faculty, staff and students where you will discover the unique opportunities available at an urban university. Welcome Home!
 
 
Here are some of the things you will accomplish on your Orientation Day:
  • Connect with students in your incoming class.
  • Meet with your academic advisor.
  • Enroll in classes.
  • Learn to navigate UMKC's campus.
  • Get your Student ID Card.
  • Get to know UMKC faculty, staff, and current students.
  • Learn about academic support services.
  • Visit with student organizations.
  • Tie up loose ends with financial aid, housing, parking and more.
  • Take the option to stay overnight in a residence hall. (For arrangements, contact Residential Life directly at 816.235.8840)
 
Don't forget to pick an Orientation Date:
  • Friday, June 20th 2008
  • Saturday, August 2nd 2008
 
Registration Options: Once you've picked a date, here's how you can register
  • By Mail: Download, print and mail in the registration form and orientation fee to the Admissions Office.
  • By Phone: Call Emily Penrose-McLaughlin (816.235.1114), UMKC's Transfer Orientation Coordinator, register and pay for your orientation session with a credit card.
  • In Person: You may complete the registration form and bring it to the Admissions Office at 120 Administrative Center, 5115 Oak Street, Kansas City MO 64112.
