UMKC Application Process : Transfer (Students with more than 24 hours of college credit)

Transferring to UMKC :
We know education is important to you because you've already earned college credits. At UMKC, we'll help you take the next step forward - a bachelor's degree.

Transfer Criteria: UMKC considers students with more than 24 hours of transferrable college credit, as transfer students. If you have less than 24 hours of credit, you will need to meet freshman admission criteria - click here for more info on applying as a freshman.

Transfer Students need to have an overall 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale in all coursework attempted at previous institutions. For purpose of admission, UMKC recalculates GPAs without using those listed on transcripts. For more information on this, please call the Admissions Office at 816-235-1111.

Applicants must have official transcripts from each College or University attended sent to the Office of Admissions before their application can be considered.

Documents you will need when applying as a transfer student:

Students will need to submit the following documents:

  1. Application for Admission
  2. Official transcripts from each Community College OR University attended
  3. $35 nonrefundable fee for new applicants OR
  4. A $50 nonrefundable fee for non-resident students applying to the School of Medicine
