Need to check on the status of your application?
If you are interested in checking the status of your application online, you will need a SSO (Single Sign-On) username and password. Read below for more information on how you can find out your SSO.

How do I find out my SSO?
New students are automatically assigned a Single Sign-On (SSO) which is also known as a User ID. Your SSO was e-mailed or mailed to you when you applied for admission. If you do not know your SSO, visit www.umkc.edu/is/userpassword.asp and click on "Student Password Recovery Web page" and then click on "First Time Users" and follow the prompts. Your SSO will be displayed on the screen, but it will not be e-mailed to you.

*International students cannot check their application status online using this method. If you are an international student or are currently in the United States on a visa, you will need to contact the International Student Affairs Office (ISAO) via email (isao@umkc.edu) or by phone (816.235.1113), to check the status of your application.


How do I set up the password for my SSO?
If you know your SSO and need to set or reset your UMKC password, go to the Information Services Password Recorvery and Reset web page and click on Students.

You will need the following information to reset your password:

  1. UMKC SSO (username)
  2. Date of Birth
  3. UMKC Student ID number
  4. The last four digits of your Social Security Number

The first time you set your password, do not be concerned about the security question, go ahead and enter the last four digits of your Social Security number and click enter. The system will recognize you, and you will be able to setup a security question on the next screen. If you previously set your password, you will need to know the security question in order to re-set it. Answers to the security question are case sensitive, so remember exactly how you entered it.
