Dr. Friend coordinates all assessment initiatives for the university and serves as the Chair of the University Assessment Committee. She is the Assistant Dean for the School of Graduate Studies and has a faculty appointment in the Educational Administration program in the School of Education. Recent publications include the book Principal 2.0: Technology and Educational Leadership, in addition to articles in Educational Studies, Education Leadership Review, and the Journal of Research in Leadership Education. Dr. Friend's research agenda focuses on issues of equity in urban education, educational leadership policy and preparation, and video production/documentary film in education.
