"In Woessner's world, it's the humans that often form the background to the nature that is so present and alive, you'll discover yourself looking around as if you've never been here before--a survivor who must learn to read the signs of birds, trees, and wind to get along." --Jonis Agee

"Warren Woessner's poems ask us to see beyond mere looking, to hear beyond listening--and in so doing, they supply us with terse, carefully-crafted images wonderfully suited to the challenge." --Mark Vinz

Warren Woessner was born in a farm town in southern New Jersey. After studying creative writing with James McConkey and A. R. Ammons at Cornell University, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin, in 1996, where he founded Abraxas magazine and received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Iris, and works as a biotechnology patent attorney.
