Lead Coaches & Peer Coaches

Peer Coaches are the most influential components of the Coaching Program.  Peer Coaches are matched with Coaching Program students and meet with each student individually for a minimum of 30 minutes each week.  The face-to-face, one-on-one interaction has proven to be crucial to students in their first year of college.  Peer Coaches provide a wide range of support for their students, including academic, social, emotional, and personal.

Lead Coaches are students who have previously served as Peer Coaches for a minimum of twelve months.  Each Lead Coach is assigned to 3-5 Peer Coaches, and it is the responsibility of the Lead Coach to provide support for his/her Peer Coaches.  Lead Coaches serve as mentors, but their responsibilities also include assisting with the training of Peer Coaches, planning program-wide events, and leading discussions in A&S 100 classes.
