The MindBody Connection provides students with educational and supportive services that enhance their skills related to physical, mental and emotional health, all in support of their academic success.
Furthermore, the MindBody Connection aims to provide students with the life skills necessary to flourish and thrive, both while students and throughout their lifespan development, by helping them identify and capitalize on their personal strengths, access campus and community resources, all in the pursuit of overall well-being. |

Philosophy Statement
|
There is strong evidence to suggest that the mind and body are strongly linked, in both direct and indirect ways. Several of the leading illnesses and causes of death in the United States are related in some way to mental health, including:
Obesity ∙ Cancer ∙ Smoking ∙ Heart disease ∙ Alcohol & Drug Abuse ∙ Accidents ∙ Suicide ∙ Viral & bacterial illnesses ∙ Sexual/Reproductive Health
This comprehensive approach to health and well-being is more effective than a segmented approach that separates physical and mental health. Good physical and mental health are contingent upon one another. People who are emotionally and physically healthy are more productive, resilient, and effective in their relationships and work. |
