The Testing Office of the University Counseling, Health, and Testing Center provides testing services for UMKC students and community constituents in the metropolitan area. The service has two primary components.
National testing programs for admission and licensure and certification programs are available to all interested individuals. Approximately 70 national test programs (ACT,GRE, LSAT, MCAT, PRAXIS, TOEFL, GMAT, etc.) are hosted by the University, some that are computer delivered and others that are paper-pencil. A variety of test locations throughout the campus are utilized and most have a group format. All tests require some pre-registration and you may need to consult your advisor for the proper test selection. Additional information on specific test programs may be obtained by calling our office or visiting the web site of the test program. The Center maintains current registration materials for many of the exams administered, which may be picked up during office hours. If the Center does not offer the examination you need, we will assist you in identifying a source.
The second service component is the testing of individuals who have sought the services of a counselor. Students who are seen at the University Counseling and Testing Center, or community members who are clients at the Community Counseling Center may be tested, as deemed appropriate by their counselor. A full range of psychological and career testing is available. All testing is conducted within the ethical guidelines established by the American Psychological Association.
