Overview of Community and Public Affairs

Great cities have great universities, and thriving as Kansas City's university requires a healthy community. As the University of Missouri - Kansas City moves toward its vision of creating a campus without borders, the Office of Community and Public Affairs continues to explore ways to become an essential community partner with our surrounding community through the improvement of its quality of life and the enhancement of its viability.

The Office also regularly communicates with elected officials in Kansas City and Jefferson City, our state's capital, to advocate the university's policy objectives and priorities with the legislative and executive branches of government. Official University contacts are generally made through the office of Community and Public Affairs, giving elected and appointed officials one point of contact and one voice for the University.

As Kansas City's University, we are committed to being involved in the community where we reside. The Community Affairs staff works to promote mutual understanding and supportive relationships between the University of Missouri - Kansas City and a variety of community sectors.
