Introduction to and application of the Engineering Design Process including: product development, needs identification, benchmarking, information gathering, intellectual property, concept generation, creativity methods, concept selection, professional, ethical and legal responsibilities, and computer-aided design and rapid prototyping applications. A comprehensive design project requiring community engagement and an interdisciplinary design approach is required for each student. Recommended preparation: MEC-ENGR 130 or MEC-ENGR 131 or comparable non-engineering 3D CAD course. Prerequisites: Anchor II. Co-Requisites: DISC 300.
