CariAnn Bergner, M.S.
CariAnn is a Ph.D. candidate from the Counseling
Psychology program at Iowa State University. Her theoretical orientation
is integrative, with foundations in humanistic therapy within a
multicultural and feminist framework. She builds upon these foundations
with Teyber’s interpersonal process model. CariAnn believes that a
strong therapeutic relationship provides a secure base for clients to
fully engage in self-exploration in therapy and also finds great value
in processing here-and-now experiences in therapy. CariAnn has special
interest areas in eating disorders and body image, identity development,
LGBTQ issues, grief and loss, and career development. Outside of work,
CariAnn enjoys spending time with her partner and dog, watching movies,
reading, and finding new events and locations to explore.
