Monica Jones, M.S.

Monica is a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Her primary theoretical orientation is interpersonal; however, her clinical approach is influenced by cognitive-behavioral and family systems theories. She has special interests in mindfulness, women’s issues, community interventions, and spiritual and religious values. Monica has experience working with diverse populations in community mental health, counseling center, and inpatient psychiatric settings. She values a strength-based approach to intervention and assessment that leads to empowerment. Monica also enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching a good movie during her spare time.
