UMKC Counseling Center
Leslee Marcom, M.S.
her B.A. in Psychology from Texas State University and her M.S. in
Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas. Leslee
is currently a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at the
University of North Texas. Her primary orientation is
interpersonal, but she utilizes a number of other interventions
(cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and mindfulness techniques) in
an effort to help clients increase their coping skills and resources to
alleviate current stressors. Leslee places a strong emphasis on
forming a strong, working alliance with her clients, as she believes
that the therapy alliance can be utilized as a vehicle for change during
the course of treatment. For fun, Leslee enjoys spending time with
family and friends, running, yoga, any music-related event, water
sports, and trying new cooking recipes.
