Dr. Lynette Sparkman-Barnes received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1996. She is licensed in both Missouri and Kansas. She is a part-time staff psychologist at the Center, and continues to work in the areas of community mental health, school-based mental health, and private practice. Her areas of clinical and research interest include multicultural counseling, consultation and outreach, and psychology and religion. Her theoretical framework is heavily influenced by systems and solution-focused theories. Dr. Sparkman-Barnes also is an ordained Minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
