Dr. Lynette Sparkman-Barnes received her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1996. She is licensed in both Missouri and Kansas. In addition to her work at the Center, she continues to work in the areas of community mental health, school-based mental health, and private consultation. Her areas of clinical and research interest include multiculturalism and social justice, consultation and outreach, and psychology and religion. Her theoretical framework is integrated with multicultural models and is heavily influenced by systems and solution-focused theories. Dr. Sparkman-Barnes also is an ordained Minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
