UMKC Department of Economics offers an intellectually challenging atmosphere and the opportunity for study well beyond the traditional boundaries of economics. Student Organizations
- OΔE (Omicron Delta Epsilon)
OΔE is the International Honor Society in Economics. Its purpose is to recognize scholastic attainment, honor outstanding achievements in economics, and promote scholarly research and interaction among students and faculty working in the field of economics.
- The Economics Club
This club promotes interaction among undergraduate, graduate students, faculty and distinguished economists and professionals.
- Oeconomicus
Oeconomicus is a student-refereed economics journal sponsored by the Economics Club. The journal welcomes contributions in all areas of political economy, economic methodology, economic history and history of economic thought. All economic traditions including but not limited to post-Keynesian, institutionalist, Marxist, feminist, Austrian and Sraffian are welcome. It publishes both theoretical and empirical research, as well as interviews with distinguished economists and policy makers.
- S3C (Students of the Social Science Consortium)
Chartered as an official UMKC student organization in January of 1997, S3C provides the organizational context for several functions of great value to the economics program.
