Prerequisite Courses

  • Most students are eligible for admission after completion of a minimum one year of college pre-requisites. Students interested in applying to the Pharm.D. program must complete a minimum of 31 credits of required college-level courses. Minimum eligibility requires a cumulative 2.75 GPA and a science/math 2.5 GPA. Scores from the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT), as well as a formal interview are required. High school seniors with a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 3.25 (on a 4.0, non-weighted scale) at the beginning of their senior year and whose ACT composite score is a minimum of 23 or higher are eligible to apply for the Freshman Provisional Admission Program. Students accepted into the provisional admission program hold a reserve seat in the first professional year of the Pharm.D. program if freshmen collegiate year eligibility requirements are successfully completed. Both Pharm.D. and provisional admission options require special application packets.
  • Students are admitted for fall entry only.
  • Pharm.D. application deadline: Jan. 15
  • Provisional application deadline: Dec. 15
  • The BSPS can be completed in full at UMKC or students can transfer from other accredited colleges. A UMKC application and official transcripts are required for admission. There is no required deadline and students can be admitted in any semester.
