Email Exchange Clients: ActiveSync Mobile Clients |

ActiveSync (Push E-mail).
This will setup your device to sync with Exchange's Calendar, Contacts,
Inbox and Tasks.
The instructions are for Windows Mobile version 6.0 or later and maybe
different for older versions. For more information about Windows Mobile devices see
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/default.mspx.
- Click on the Start menu then go to Programs.
- Launch ActiveSync application.
- If your device has never been configured for ActiveSync,
click on "set up your device to sync with it" link.
- Put in your e-mail address.
- Uncheck "Attempt to detect Exchange Server settings."
- Select Next.
- See step 5.
- If your device already been configured and you want to
reconfigure, Select Menu then Configure Server.
- Type in e2k.exchange.umkc.edu
for the server address.
- Click Next.
- Type in your SSO ID and password.
- Type in umkc-users
for the domain.
- Click Next then Finish.
- Push Start then All Programs.
- Find and launch ActiveSync application.
- If your device has never been configured for ActiveSync,
click on "set up your device to sync with it" link.
- Put in your e-mail address.
- Uncheck "Attempt to detect Exchange Server settings."
- Select Next.
- See step 5.
- If your device already been configured and you want to
reconfigure, Select Menu then Configure Server.
- Type in e2k.exchange.umkc.edu
for the server address.
- Push Next.
- Type in your SSO ID and password.
- Type in umkc-users
for the domain.
- Push Next then Finish.
- Select the Settings icon.
- Click on 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars'.
- Click on 'Add Account...'.
- Click on 'Microsoft Exchange'.
- Enter your main UMKC email address (not your alias address) and your UMKC username and password. Also enter a description such as 'UMKC Exchange' and click 'Next'.
- You will get an unable to verify certificate error, click 'Accept'.
- A line will expand for server name. Enter the server name as:
e2k.exchange.umkc.edu and click 'Next'.
- You will be prompted for which items to synchronize. You can select Mail, Contacts, and Calendars. (If you are only using UMKC email, it is recommended to select all three.) Click 'Save' when finished.
- You will be prompted to Sync, along with a warning if you selected Calendar, as this will wipe out any existing Calendar information.
- You will get a screen with additional account settings. Scroll to the bottom of this screen and make sure you have the correct time zone selected. Adjust other settings as needed. Then click 'Settings' on the top-left after you are done.
- Push the Home button to exit the Settings screen.
- Check your email, contacts, and calendar to ensure they are all synchronizing correctly.
