STATEMENT ON REPORTED ROBBERY TO THE KANSAS CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
The UMKC Police Department was notified of armed robbery of a UMKC student on August 20 at approximately 5:45 p.m. near 51st and Troost.
The student informed police he was walking westbound on 51st near Forest when approached by two men, who ordered him into their car at gunpoint. They were parked in the Go-Chicken-Go parking lot, 5101 Troost. They took approximately $600 in cash from the student, returned his wallet and ordered him out of the car. The student was unharmed. The UMKC Police and Kansas City, Missouri Departments were contacted upon the student’s release.
The suspects were described as two African-American males, both wearing black tank tops and one wearing a do-rag. They were driving an older model Oldsmobile or Cutlass Sierra, faded blue in color. The KCPD is conducting an investigation.
