Police Report Request

UMKC Police incident reports are normally available after 7-10 business days. All UMKC Police incident report requests must be processed through the University of Missouri System Public Records Center.

To obtain a copy of your report taken by the UMKC Police Department, visit the UM System Public Records Center web page and fill out an online request.

Vehicle Jumpstart Assistance

The UMKC Police Department patrol vehicles are equipped with jump packs. Patrol officers will be able to respond to your on-campus location and assist you with a jump start. For assistance contact the UMKC Police Department at 816-235-1515.

Vehicle Lockout Assistance

If you lock your keys in your vehicle on campus, patrol officers will be able to attempt an unlock of your vehicle. For assistance contact the UMKC Police Department at 816-235-1515.

Safety Escort Services

The UMKC Police Department provides safety escorts for campus members while on campus. The safety escort is not meant to meet an individual's routine transportation needs or act as a ride program during inclement weather.  It is an option for those who have a genuine concern for their personal safety.

The safety escorts are provided 24 hours a day by either a security or police officer from the UMKC Police Department. Safety escorts are limited to on-campus locations only. For assistance contact the UMKC Police Department at 816-235-1515 to request a safety escort.

Property Registration

Property registration service, including bicycles, musical instruments, and electronics, is available through the UMKC Police Department.

Emergency Notification

Emergency notification is available through the UMKC Police Department at 816-235-1515.

Fingerprinting

Fingerprinting service is available to UMKC students, faculty, and staff at UMKC Police Headquarters, 5005 Oak St. These are ink prints, not digital. The non-refundable charge is $20 per fingerprint card. We accept exact change cash only; no checks or debit/credit cards. 

Service is subject to staffing availability and by appointment only. Call 816-235-1716 to make an appointment. No walk-ins.

Lost and Found

Each UMKC building has a lost and found, with the main location being the Student Union Information Center.  However, some items may have been turned in to the UMKC Police Department. To check if your property has been turned in to the UMKC Police Department, call 816-235-1515.
