Students in good standing can participate in any co-curricular activity offered by the University. For purposes of co-curricular participation, “good standing” is defined as credit enrollment in the University. Individual student organizations (e.g., Student Government Association) or any state, regional or national organization to which a student organization belongs (e.g., a
national social fraternity) may impose special eligibility requirements that would be binding on student participants and organizations.* Undergraduates: For officers of social groups and special-interest groups, the only requirement is that they are currently enrolled for credit at UMKC and maintain at least a 2.0 grade-point average. Student-government officers and representatives must accumulate 12 hours of credit at UMKC before filing for office, must be currently enrolled for credit at UMKC, and must maintain at least a 2.0 grade-point average before filing and during their terms of office. Graduate and professional students: For officers of social and special-interest groups, the only requirement is enrollment for credit at UMKC in good academic standing, both before filing for office and during terms of office. *Must be in accord with equal-opportunity guidelines and must be non-discriminatory with respect to race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin and disability or Vietnam-veteran status unless specifically exempted by law.
