UMKC is a diverse campus welcoming and providing services to students and scholars from around the world. The International Student Affairs Office (ISAO) supports international students and scholars in achieving their academic goals and maintaining non-immigrant status.
ISAO offers recruitment, admissions, and advising support services including:
Recruitment:
· Visits with students, families, and advisors overseas and in the United States
· Partners with overseas colleges and universities to create articulation agreements
· Works closely with embassies and sponsoring organizations to assist sponsored students
Admissions
· Processes applications for ESL, undergraduate and graduate international students
· Evaluates international credentials for admission and transfer credit
· Awards scholarships
Advising
· Welcomes new students and scholars through check in and orientation sessions
· Advises students, scholars, and campus community on immigration regulations
· Hosts cultural programming and events
· Provides on-line document request services
· Instructs students and scholars in achieving approved employment opportunities on and off campus
