Orientation

816-235-1111

Orientation programs at UMKC are designed to help new freshmen and transfer students make the transition from one academic environment to the next. These programs address the academic, social and emotional development of the students. Students attending orientation also receive academic advising and register for classes. To enhance students’ success in transition, faculty and professional staff advisers provide student-to-student interaction during advising and registration. Student orientation leaders are trained UMKC students who work with new students. Whether you are a first-time college student or a transfer student from a two-or four-year college, orientation at UMKC is designed to meet your needs. For more information about orientation or on becoming an orientation leader, call the Office of Admissions at 816-235-1111.
