Oak Place Apartments - Coming Soon!
In the spring of 2012, UMKC purchased Oak Place Apartments in order to better serve our students. That spring, a survey was provided to all students living in Oak Place, and we used those results to begin making some changes in the facility to better meet our student needs.
You spoke - we listened!
Students were asked a series of questions about how we might make changes around the facility to make it a better place for our students to live. Students responding to the survey indicated that they wanted a study space/community room in place of the fitness center that was on-site previously. This summer, the fitness equipment was removed and new carpeting was put down. Furniture will be 
moved in at the beginning of the school year, and this space will allow our students a meeting area for studying, hanging out, or classes.

Residents also indicated that they wanted the ability to hang out in the courtyards 
more. We've been adding patio space to each of the courtyards, and some new furniture will be arriving shortly, along with some umbrellas for shade.
Other changes
You'll also be seeing a new retailer in the Oak Place stores beginning this fall - Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe will be opening shop to provide toasted sandwiches, soups, salads and pizzas from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
