OAK STREET HALL

Oak Street Hall is UMKC's newest residence hall. New in August 2004, Oak Street Hall is a place where you'll find study rooms, kitchenettes and social lounges on each floor.

With room for 559 students, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the high-tech classroom, music practice rooms and outdoor courtyard. Live the campus life experience with a floor plan designed into 11 divided "community areas" where you can get to know other students with similar interests and academic goals.

Each general living community includes:

  • 50 students
  • 24 double-occupancy units and 2 single-occupancy units
  • Social lounge
  • Quiet study room
  • Kitchenettes on each floor
  • Vending areas on each floor

Common areas include:

  • A lounge/recreation area with community kitchen
  • A 1,000-square-foot classroom fully wired with built-in projection    capability
  • Three music practice rooms
  • Large outdoor courtyard with grills and green space
  • A small computer room

Student rooms feature:

  • Shared private bathroom in suite style area
  • Sink in each room
  • One Ethernet hook-up per bed
  • Cable television
  • A microfridge
