Tools for Succeeding at UMKC
UMKC empowers participants to become transformational leaders who can contribute to and be responsible for the success of UMKC's vision. Research by student development experts has shown that experiences within the living environment can contribute as much, or even more, to the total education of a student as in-class experiences. In UMKC Residence Halls, you learn to live with others, mesh your academic experiences with your out-of-class experiences and find out more about yourself.
How to Get Around UMKC
Whether you're wanting to schedule a campus visit, looking for a place to live while you're in school, or just have a question you would like answered, the Welcome Center is the place to come to. The Center was created to provide an inviting place to greet visitors and students when they first arrive on campus. We also have information about hotels in the area, on and off campus housing.

How to Gain the MOST from Residence Hall Life
Take an active part in Residence Hall Life. Allow yourself to learn from the experiences you will have here. Residence Hall life gives you an opportunity to live in a close community situation and to get to know people from different backgrounds.
RHC – Residence Hall Councils
Residents have a chance to become a part of RHC during their stay at the Residence Halls. Residents are elected to lead RHC in planning social, athletic and educational programs with the assistance of the Residence Hall Staff. They also participate in the formulation of rules and polices for the hall.
LLC – Living-Learning Communities
Living-Learning Communities are available in the Oak Street Residence Hall. LLCs provide social and academic support for students who reside on campus at UMKC. They give students the opportunity to live together, learn together and form a system of support, which helps ease the transition into college and enhances chances for success.
