WORKING IN RESIDENTIAL LIFE AT THE
UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI - KANSAS CITY

Thank you for considering employment with the University of Missouri Kansas City! We approach recruitment from the perspective that you will be interviewing us as much as we are interviewing you. Please give us critical review. I believe you’All find many exciting things happening in our department, and a staff that is second to none!

We’re a dynamic department that values student-centered work and creative, original thinking. Our organization is structured in a way that allows for independence and autonomy in each complex. Our programming model and procedures, for example, allow for flexibility and adaptability based on the needs of the students in any given residence hall or apartment. This lets us tailor our work to meet students’ needs in a holistic manner.

We have the incredible opportunity to work with a very diverse population of students and staff.  With over 30% of our residents being students of color we strive to offer comfortable and supportive environments for all.

We are in search of talented individuals to join our staff team. If you are committed to serving students to the best of your abilities, believe in an educational and developmental approach to working with students, and value working along side people who are passionate about the work they do, UMKC Residential Life might be the place for you!

We hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,

Eric Grospitch, Ed.D
Director of Residential Life

Living in Kansas City
An energetic city forged by a rich history, Kansas City is brimming with activities to keep you entertained—eclectic cuisine, swinging jazz, one-of-a-kind museums, a thriving arts scene and fantastic shopping. Part of the city’s charm lies in its impressive network of parks and boulevards and of course, exquisite fountains. The world-renowned jazz legacy continues today in clubs throughout the city and the addition of the new “Sprint Center” has recently brought artists such as Elton John, Garth Brooks, and Dane Cook to the city.  For barbecue lovers, Kansas City’s signature food can be found at more than 100 barbecue establishments, but visitors also delight in restaurants of every ethnic origin.  Additionally, Kansas City is home to Royals baseball, Wizards Soccer and Chiefs football.   For additional information about the Kansas City area explore the Kansas City Star or www.visitkc.com.
