SUMMER CONFERENCES AND INTERNSHIP HOUSING

From the moment you arrive at UMKC, you will enjoy a campus that offers a beautiful and accommodating setting for your summer conferences

  • Our lovely historic buildings make the campus a pleasure to traverse under foliage in full bloom.
  • Conference spaces with state of the art technology, including a classroom for 40 people in Oak Street Residence Hall with full electronic and information technology. High-tech ILE campus classrooms with may be reserved for meeting spaces. The University Center also has some audio-visual and media equipment available for its users.  A UMKC Exchange Account is required for use of the tech classrooms. Contact the UMKC IS Department for more information.
  • Lodging in our Oak Street Residence Hall or Cherry Street Residence Hall will make you feel right at home. Both halls are air-conditioned.
  • Swinney Recreation Center has everything you need to keep up with your fitness routine or plan a large event: five gymnasiums; four racquetball courts; one squash court; 25m indoor/outdoor pool; 1/8 and 1/4 mile jogging tracks; fitness training center; aerobic exercise area; outdoor playing fields; and wellness center. Swinney is only available to individuals who are 18 years or older. Younger conference attendees may attend planned group functions/events there.
  • Enjoy the use of UMKC's Miller Nichols Library all summer long with library privileges. Library privileges are limited to on-site use for people who are not UMKC students. Local public libraries with inter-library loan services may be used to check out materials.
  • Treat yourself to a night (or day) on the town – Kansas City is known for its great restaurants and shopping, as well as a multitude of cultural and social attractions (Jazz District, Royals baseball, Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun and the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art to name a few!).
