Green Commute Challenge 2012
From July 9, 2012 - September 28, 2012 UMKC will participate in the Mid-America Regional Council's Green Commute Challenge.
The Green Commute Challenge is an annual employer-based contest that UMKC joins with the ultimate goal of encouraging employees to use alternative modes of transportation during the time of year when Kansas City’s air quality is most vulnerable to elevated levels of ozone and other pollutants.
This metro-wide contest encourages commuters to drive less
and promote alternatives such as:
- Bicycling
- Bus Riding (KCATA , Johnson County Passport & UMKC Shuttle Bus)
- Carpooling
- Staying in for Lunch
- Walking
