UMKC HSCP A&S DEAN'S SCHOLARSHIP
The
UMKC
High School/College Program (HSCP) College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) Dean's Scholarship, provides up to $5,000 annually (this
amount is subject to change).
These awards are specifically intended for students who
graduated from high school and
participated in the HSCP. (These scholarships are separate from
the Tuition Assistance available in the classrooms and are only
available to full-time on-campus students seeking degrees at UMKC.)

Individual HSCP A&S Dean's Scholarships have been designated for students
in specific areas of study in an effort to stimulate
interest in the following disciplines: |

Debate
|
French |
German |
|
Physics |
Spanish |
Studio Art |
To qualify
for
HSCP A&S Dean's Scholarships you must:

Be a high school
graduate and must have successfully completed at least one UMKC course in the
High
School/College Program by the time of graduation.

Be a
high school GPA of at least 2.75 or a score of 21 or higher on the ACT and be
admitted to UMKC as a
degree‑seeking student in good standing.

Indicate an interest in at least one of the academic programs in the College of Arts and
Sciences listed below. This interest should be indicated your HSCP A&S
Dean's Scholarship Application.

You must also indicate a
College of Arts and Sciences program as your primary interest area on the
UMKC Admissions Application

NOTE: If
you indicate Debate as your primary interest area, you must also
submit a separate application for the UMKC Debate Team. For additional
information about Debate at UMKC and application for the Debate Team, visit
http://www.umkc.edu/debate.

If you indicate Studio Art as your primary interest area, you must
submit a portfolio with your application.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE:

The HSCP Dean's Scholarship...

STEP 1:
Submit a Completed UMKC Admissions Application, including
transcript and ACT scores, submitted to the UMKC Office of Admissions. You must
apply for admission and be accepted to UMKC to be considered for this
scholarship.

STEP 2:
Submit a completed HSCP
Dean's Scholarship Application, consisting of:
a. Completed Scholarship Application Form
(Click on the link

b. High School Transcript, including class rank and
ACT score.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This transcript is
separate from the one you submit with your UMKC Application for
Admission. (You will need two high school transcripts; one to
accompany your HSCP Dean's Scholarship Application, the other to accompany
your UMKC Application for Admission.)
c. Two Letters of
Recommendation.

d. An Essay of no more than 500 words in response to
the question:
"How has your participation in the UMKC High School/College Program helped
you prepare to go to college to earn a bachelor's degree?"
STEP 3:
Send your HSCP Scholarship application, transcript,
recommendations, and essay to:
