How do I
request a transcript?
There are three options when it comes to ordering
transcripts.
1. You may come in
person to the UMKC Administrative Center, 5115 Oak Street, Room 115
2. You may send your
request by Fax to (816) 235-5513
3. You may mail
your request to:
UMKC
Transcripts
5100
Rockhill Road
Kansas
City, MO 64110
You will be asked to include the following
information in your request:
1. Your Name
2.
UMKC Student Number or
Social Security Number
3. Exact address
where the transcript should be sent
4. $5.00 processing fee (subject to change) -
(Please make checks payable to the University of Missouri-Kansas City.)
Why can't
this be done electronically?
The key to transcript requests is your signature. It is
this one point that prevents us from accepting either e-mail or telephone
transcript requests.
Along with your signature, please include your full name as it appeared on your
records while you were here, your student number, the destination where you want
your transcript sent and payment. We charge $5.00 per transcript. (For FAX
requests, we accept VISA and MASTERCARD and DISCOVER credit cards. Include your
account number and your account expiration date in your FAX request.)
How long will
it take?
Transcripts are mailed within 3 working days following
receipt of the transcript request but frequently are mailed the day after
receipt. Students who attended prior to 1975 may experience a delay in
transcript processing since these records are kept on microfilm.
Transcripts will be sent by special overnight delivery if the student includes
an additional $20 to cover the U.S. Postal Service charge. Requests received
after noon will not be processed until the following day. Students may have
their transcript faxed to a destination within the United States for an
additional $5.00 ($15.00 for destinations outside of the United States). Faxed
transcripts are not considered official by UMKC. Care will be taken to protect
against the release of information to parties other than those authorized by the
student, but UMKC assumes no responsibility for the accidental release of
information to unauthorized persons.
What is an "official" transcript?
Official transcripts (UMKC definition) are those sent
directly to an employer or another institution of higher education or to any
third party on behalf of the student. If the student receives the transcript
before the third party, it is no longer considered by us to be official. We
offer "Issued to Student in a Sealed Envelope" transcripts which are sometimes
considered official by third parties.
How can I get more information?
