HSCP History Teacher Brad Peck Receives 2005 DAR Award

Brad Peck, Truman High School American History teacher has recently been   selected the Daughters of the American Revolution Missouri State Outstanding   Teacher.

Recognition by the local chapter will be held at the George Washington Tea and   American History Observance at the Community of Christ Church, 15006 East 39th   St. in Independence, MO. The tea is to be held Saturday, February 26, from 2:30-    3:30 p.m.

Recognition by state chapter will be held at the University Plaza Hotel in   Springfield, MO, on Saturday, April 23, at 12:00 p.m.

The Daughters of the American Revolution contest purpose is to recognize a   notable, full-time teacher of American History in public, private and/or parochial   schools, grades 6-12. The recipient must have incisive knowledge of American History which he/she shares with students and foster a spirit of patriotism and loyal support of our country and constitutional government.

After the state winner is selected, the recipient’s dossier is submitted to the national competition.
