Position Title: Visiting Assistant Professor, Sociology

Position Description:    Department of Sociology/Criminal Justice & Criminology invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Sociology. This is a 9-month position, with the possibility of annual renewal.

The ideal candidate will be prepared to teach at least three of the following: introduction to sociology; life course development; gerontology; death and dying; social problems. One course per semester will have as the primary audience 1st or 2nd year medical students in a combined B.A./M.D. program.

Qualifications:   The position is open to candidates who are ABD, but preference will be given to those who have a Ph.D. in Sociology by August, 2008. Position Title:  Visiting Assistant Professor, Anthropology 

Position Description:  Visiting Assistant Professor in Cultural Anthropology. This is a one-year position, with the possibility of a second-year renewal. Areal and theoretical specialization is open, but the ideal candidate will be prepared to teach two sections of Introduction to Cultural Anthropology as well as one general undergraduate course in Globalization, Nationalism, and/or Gender each semester. The teaching load is three courses each semester (Fall and Spring).
