School of Social Work

Position Title: Assistant Professor – New 

 

Position Description:   A tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Responsibilities include teaching (2-2 teaching workload for 3 years followed by 3-3 thereafter) which includes student advising, scholarly productivity, and service, especially at the departmental level initially.  Some level of liaison with field agencies is likely.

Qualifications:  Must have an MSW degree with a minimum of two years post-MSW professional practice experience.  Doctoral candidates (ABD) will be considered but preference will be given to individuals with earned doctorates, especially those with doctorates in Social Work.  Additional preference will be given to individuals with significant documented experience working with urban populations or whose professional practice has addressed contemporary urban problems.

Position Title:  Graduate Research Assistant                       

Position Description:  Assist faculty in scholarly research, 10 to 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree; enrollment in a minimum of six hours of graduate courses in Social Work or related field per semester; maintain a B grade in courses studied and under study.
