Position Title:  Research Assistant, Department of Oral Biology

PS Position Nbr: 00037119

Position Description:  The UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking applications for a full-time Research Assistant in the Department of Oral Biology. Candidate selected will work in the Bone Biology Research group performing histology and histomorphometry.  Job duties will include but are not limited to: tissue harvesting and preparation such as plastic and paraffin embedding, frozen section preparation, immunostaining, and quantitation using the Osteomeasure system.  Some routine laboratory duties such as ordering of supplies, maintaining inventory, maintaining a detailed log book, etc.  Individual will need to interact with members of the Bone group including faculty, postdoctoral fellows and students.

 

Qualifications:  Qualified candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline.  Previous experience in research or medical laboratory preferred.  Preference will be given to individuals having familiarity with histology.  Computer skills including but not limited to use of Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with Microsoft Access databases preferred.

Position Description:  UMKC seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track/non tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Restorative Department (Prosthodontics Section) based on qualifications.  The department is responsible for pre-doctoral education, research, patient care, and service.  Specific responsibilities will concentrate on pre-doctoral education, with opportunities for research and extramural practice.

Position Description:  UMKC is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Position Description:   UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track) researcher experienced in molecular biology and transgenic technology with experience and a specialized interest in mineralized tissue.  The successful candidate will integrate into Oral Biology’s Bone Biology Research Program that investigates important issues in bone and tooth development, physiology, and disease.  This individual would be expected to collaborate with biomaterials/bioengineering researchers and/or potentially function as part of a clinical research team to provide expertise in basic molecular mechanisms and translate findings in the murine model to potential clinical trials.

 

Qualifications:  A PhD, DDS, and/or MD or its equivalent is required.

Position Description:  UMKC School of Dentistry is seeking an Associate Professor/Professor in the Department of Oral Biology.  This senior clinical/translational researcher will establish their own clinical/translational program and research team in addition to providing management and oversight of newly developing clinical research initiatives, including provision of leadership and guidance to faculty and staff with regards to establishment and expansion of the clinical/translational research portfolio within the School of Dentistry.  These responsibilities will include creation of research teams of clinicians, biostatisticians, patient coordinators, basic and translational investigators and leadership in establishment of good clinical research practices and ensuring compliance with IRB and FDA policies.

Position Description:    The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry is seeking an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator for a full time opportunity with a new Translational/Clinical Research effort.  This individual will be responsible for performing the basic activities involved in the conduct of a clinical research study within applicable regulatory guidelines, will ensure compliance with protocol and overall clinical objectives including the collection, preparation, maintenance, submission, and tracking of study documents (IRB applications, CV's, dental/medical licenses, Case Report Forms, Consent Forms, Regulatory Documents Binder) as applicable.  The individual will support a variety of translation/clinical research projects in the area of Oral Biology.


Qualifications:  Qualified candidates will have at least 1 yr. of clinical research experience as a CRC. The candidate must have the ability to interface well with IRB, Sponsor, Investigator, clinic staff and patients, have organization and leadership skills with exceptional attention to detail, analytical problem solving skills, and be able to assist with coordinating patient scheduling.  A plus would be knowledge of basic study design and associated statistical analyses.  The candidate must also be able to function independently and as a team player, be responsible, organized and possess good people skills.
